The ELEVATE Leadership Course is made up of 6 Sessions. After each session we use H.O.P.E. cards to teach a very effective way to coach teammembers. How we coach as leaders has a profound affect on the culture of the team. We teach each coaching conversation positive or negative must have H.O.P.E. Each card has different scenarios that the participant must solve using the H.O.P.E. process.
Holistic– the conversation should be holistic in nature. The leader should have in the forefront of his mind before speaking the past and recent experiences he has had with the teammember, as well as the temperament of the teammember. Temperament training is provided in the 5th session.
Optimistic– the overall tone should be positive and the teammember should not experience a tongue lashing or verbal beat down.
Purposeful– this is where the most important information that the leader wants to share should be disclosed very clearly, eye ball to eye ball. The leader must leave room for the teammember to respond or ask questions. I would call this the teeth of the meeting.
Enhancing– this is when the leader through probative questions makes sure both parties walk away with a clear understanding of what the coaching was about and the direction the teammember is expected to go moving forward.
